"今天目睹这些惨烈的情景时，仍然必须控制自己的神经，过圣诞节，目睹这些情景不会有好心情的。但是我要亲眼目睹这些残暴行径，以便我将来能作为目击证人把这些说出来。对这种残酷的暴行是不能沉默的……" 2022年12月13日上午，南京市广州路小粉桥1号的拉贝先生的塑像前，南京大学学生在这里朗诵《拉贝日记》选段，并献上亲手折叠的和平鸽，以此来悼念南京大屠杀遇难者，缅怀拉贝等国际友人为南京难民所做的贡献，共同守望世界和平。

此次参加悼念的学生有一部分是来自南京大学"拉贝日记与和平城市"团队的成员。该团队通过线上、线下互动的方式走进全国的各大中小学课堂，以实际行动传承"拉贝精神"。

     "I have had to look at so many corpses over the last few weeks that I can keep my nerves in check even when viewing these horrible cases.  It really doesn't leave you in a 'Christmas' mood;  but I wanted to see these atrocities with my own eyes, so that I can speak as an eyewitness later……" On the morning of December 13, 2022, in front of the statue of John Rabe in Xiaofanqiao No. 1, Guangzhou Road, Nanjing University students read excerpts from The Good Man of Nanking and presented a hand-folded dove of peace here to mourn the victims of the Nanjing Massacre, remember the contributions made by John Rabe and other international friends to the refugees in Nanjing, and jointly watch for world peace.

      Some of the students were members of the "Rabe's Diary and Peaceful City" team at Nanjing University. Through online and offline interaction, the team entered the classrooms of primary and secondary schools across the country, inheriting the "John Rabe spirit" with practical actions.
